We have just started media buying on some campaigns with Fresh Group advertising agency. Our first campaign was a world cup tactical campaign featuring a pillow with built in speakers for an ipod!
The campaign featured the Sound Asleep pillow used by Wayne Rooney at the World Cup. The media buying idea was to leverage the publicity the Sound Asleep pillow received when Wayne was photographed carrying the pillow onto the airplane bound for South Africa. All the national newspapers would be featuring world cup stories so what better time to use these titles? The creative concept cleverly hinted that if the pillow is good enough for Wayne of Frank or Steven, then the Sound Asleep pillow was an ideal present for any guy on Fathers Day.
Media buying activity ran across the majority of weekend national newspapers with a 20 x 3 space size. We also included a weeks activity on news websites with Banners, Skyscrapers and MPU formats.
