Our media buyers have been tasked to help encourage prospective adoptive parents to come forward and adopt a child from within the Blackburn with Darwen council boundaries.

A media mix of community based Out Of Home poster formats have been planned and negotiated complimented by Rock FM radio over a 4 week period during February/March this year.

Blackburn with Darwen itself is one of the most deprived areas in the country and they have found that almost 98% of past adoptive parents have come from outside the borough and not within Blackburn with Darwen itself – usually within a 10 mile radius.

In addition almost all the children they have for placement are White British and therefore unlikely to be adopted by the high Asian population in Blackburn with Darwen.

Due to the geographic location and the fact it has the highest average household income in the catchment area, Chorley was selected as the test area.
